Last Castle done and dusted 12/09/2013
We finally visited our last ruined castle in the rain today. Dunbarton Castle is on a rock overlooking the Firth of Clyde and we reached the top (700 metres) via 500 stairs. There weren't too many visitors (just us) as it was pouring with rain. And just when I thought that would be the end of the castles, we found another one with its roof intact across the Firth. But that was it - no more rocks and ruins. I'm sure you are all looking forward to the photos on our return.
Yesterday we stayed at Loch Lomond at Belmaha, which is absolutely beautiful and even found some sea glass on the almost sandy beach. Jasper the second was also there, waiting for us to throw a stick into the sea for him. We haven't heard from him, so suspect he prefers his resort. Luckily it was raining this morning, which meant we avoided the 3 mile walk up a mountain.
It's nearly 8pm so must go get some dinner. The food here has been crackin'. And I know you won't believe it, but we haven't had any chocolate since we left the country. We decided to get some at Spean Bridge, but they didn't have any dark chocolate, so we are still being good.
Away with the Scots, now onto the Brits.
